I made this image during a jaunt along the ocean, past Kitsilano pool last Saturday. Crescent Beach
Lowest tide of the year at Crescent Beach out by Whiterock occurred recently. The tide recedes about 1 mile from the beach. Great nature exploration opportunity!
Many crabs, alive and not so much, everywhere. A car battery, slowly becoming a habitat for ocean-dwelling crusties, sat in the wet sand. Huge birds of prey casually stood by tidal pools.
Remarkable how such an exploratory walk can put perspective into things. The brutality and strength, the beauty and serenity of nature... we should really try harder to not f*** it up.
